Nicole is passionate about music, horn, academics. She is an active teacher, performer, and researcher. She performs frequently in Kansas City and has performed with Kansas City Civic Orchestra, New Mexico Philharmonic, Santa Fe Symphony, New Mexico Symphonic Chorus, and the Figero Project, Washburn Faculty Brass and Woodwind Quintets, Sandia Brass Quintet, Dolce Divas Wind Quintet, Little River Band, and was the solo hornist for the premiere of Taking Care of Mom, a musical by Jack Phillips. Nicole has been a part of two CD recordings with the University of New Mexico Wind Symphony including Arrows of Time and Concerto Gross featuring Boston Brass.
Nicole has presented at MidSouth Horn Workshops presenting her research materials on becoming a better musician and student through the growth mindset. She is excited to share her materials at the upcoming International Horn Workshop Symposium 51 in Ghent, Belgium in July of 2019. As a teacher, Nicole takes great pride in helping her students become great musicians and students. She was the Adjunct Professor of Horn at Washburn University in the Fall of 2018. Nicole has a Doctorate of Musical Arts in horn performance from the University of Missouri- Kansas City, a Masters of Music from University of New Mexico in Horn Performance, and a Bachelors of Arts from Arizona State University in Orchestral Performance. |
